On the 50th Anniversary of the Expedition, the 5 surviving members travelled once more back to the Far East and retraced the last leg of the legendary journey, this time covering the 350km from KL to Singapore on March 4, 2006, crossing via the 2nd Link at Tuas and onwards to an evening of celebrations and receptions.

At around 3pm, the first few Land Rovers in the form of Freelanders and Discos made their way past the 2nd Link and joined us.

Soon, we witnessed the arrival of the first Malaysian Series I vehicle. There's Oteq directing the truck!

All the Series vehicle have arrived. It was a spectacular view, seeing these classic vehicles in near immaculate condition still going strong and doing their thing in this day and age.

The LROM members, despite their long drive, were very warm and full of smiles as they came forward to exchange greetings and even gave away LROM stickers to each and every one of the LROS group.

Waiting for the last few vehicles to clear the immigrations, before the convoy moved off. The convoy was split into two with one heading towards the Old Ford Factory for a busy afternoon with the press and the British High Commissioner. And another convoy to check into the Orchard Hotel. Both groups will eventually meet at Regent Motors for dinner and a special screening of the First Overland documentary.

Off we went to Orchard Hotel! We (2 LROS Defenders, Tim & Yvette and ourselves) had to lead over 20 vehicles to the destination. It was a tough job but someone's got to do it! Hey most importantly, we still managed to have fun! :P

Soon, everyone was getting into the vehicles and all ready to go! The number of LR vehicles were simply overwhelming and the hotel staff told us we had to go as we were jamming up their driveway! Ooops..

And off we go again! This time, we had our destination set for Regent Motors at Alexandra Road. There was to be a dinner held in honor of the Golden Anniversary and a special screening as mentioned before.

We were along Tanglin road and it was an impressive sight seeing so many LR vehicles traveling together.
